St. Kitts & Nevis is stepping up efforts to strengthen its position within the Caribbean aviation network as the destination looks to expand international air connectivity and support long-term tourism growth.

Representatives from the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority participated in Routes Americas 2026, one of the aviation industry’s leading route development forums, where airlines, airports and tourism authorities meet to negotiate and plan future air services.

The three-day event brought together regional aviation leaders, airline executives and government officials to discuss opportunities to enhance connectivity across the Caribbean and the wider Americas.

Strategic meetings with airline partners

The St. Kitts & Nevis delegation was led by SCASPA Chief Executive Officer Adeola Moore, alongside Chief Operations Officer Calvin Duggins, as well as Kelly Fontenelle, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. Government representatives and aviation consultants also joined the discussions.

During the forum, the delegation held a series of meetings with airline partners and industry stakeholders aimed at identifying opportunities to expand airlift and strengthen the federation’s integration into regional and international aviation networks.

For island destinations like St. Kitts & Nevis, expanding air service remains a strategic priority. Greater connectivity not only facilitates tourism growth but also supports trade, investment and broader economic development.

Regional cooperation central to improving connectivity

Beyond bilateral discussions with airlines, the conference also hosted panel discussions on the broader challenges and opportunities associated with improving Caribbean air connectivity.

Industry leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative strategies between governments, tourism authorities, airports and airline partners to improve route sustainability and strengthen the region’s aviation ecosystem.

Participants in the panel included tourism and aviation officials from across the Caribbean and Central America, highlighting the shared challenges faced by island economies that rely heavily on air transport.

Positioning St. Kitts & Nevis within the regional aviation network

Participation in Routes Americas reflects St. Kitts & Nevis’ ongoing strategy to enhance its visibility among international airline partners and position the destination as a competitive gateway within the Caribbean.

As regional tourism continues to recover and travel demand across the Americas remains strong, destinations that succeed in securing new routes and strengthening airline partnerships are likely to gain a significant advantage in attracting visitors.

By actively engaging with airline decision-makers and industry stakeholders, St. Kitts & Nevis aims to expand its global aviation network and reinforce its role as an accessible destination within the Caribbean tourism landscape.
