Les donn\u00e9es publi\u00e9es par la Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago montrent que CMA CGM et MSC ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 eux seuls l\u2019essentiel des volumes trait\u00e9s par le port trinidadien au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e. <\/p>\n\n<p>CMA CGM a enregistr\u00e9 159 095 EVP (TEU) en 2025, tandis que MSC a trait\u00e9 132 878 EVP. Ensemble, les deux armateurs totalisent pr\u00e8s de 292 000 EVP \u00e0 Port of Spain, loin devant les autres op\u00e9rateurs pr\u00e9sents sur la place portuaire. <\/p>\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9cart appara\u00eet encore plus marqu\u00e9 lorsqu\u2019on le compare aux acteurs de second rang. COSCO a trait\u00e9 19 326 EVP sur l\u2019ann\u00e9e, contre 13 697 EVP pour ONE et 13 848 EVP pour MFT. <\/p>\n\n<p>Ces chiffres illustrent \u00e0 quel point l\u2019activit\u00e9 conteneuris\u00e9e de Port of Spain d\u00e9pend des strat\u00e9gies de r\u00e9seau d\u2019un nombre limit\u00e9 de grands armateurs internationaux.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le profil de trafic de CMA CGM met en \u00e9vidence le r\u00f4le de transbordement du port<\/h2>\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de sa part de march\u00e9, la structure du trafic de CMA CGM permet de mieux comprendre la fonction que joue Port of Spain au sein du r\u00e9seau r\u00e9gional du groupe.<\/p>\n\n<p>L\u2019un des chiffres les plus r\u00e9v\u00e9lateurs concerne les conteneurs vides en transbordement. \u00c0 lui seul, CMA CGM a g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 49 297 EVP de conteneurs vides en transbordement en 2025, auxquels s\u2019ajoutent 37 983 EVP de conteneurs pleins en transbordement. <\/p>\n\n<p>Ces volumes indiquent que l\u2019armateur fran\u00e7ais utilise Port of Spain non seulement comme port de destination, mais \u00e9galement comme plateforme de redistribution r\u00e9gionale et de repositionnement d\u2019\u00e9quipements au sein de ses services desservant la Cara\u00efbe et l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud.<\/p>\n\n<p>Le trafic import demeure \u00e9galement significatif pour le groupe, avec 23 022 EVP enregistr\u00e9s en 2025, tandis que les exportations ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 11 679 EVP.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les statistiques des quatre premiers mois de 2026 confirment la poursuite de cette dynamique. Sur cette p\u00e9riode, CMA CGM a trait\u00e9 56 031 EVP \u00e0 Port of Spain, conservant une avance nette sur l\u2019ensemble des autres op\u00e9rateurs. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MSC maintient une pr\u00e9sence majeure dans les flux r\u00e9gionaux<\/h2>\n\n<p>L\u2019empreinte op\u00e9rationnelle de MSC \u00e0 Port of Spain reste tout aussi importante, m\u00eame si son profil de trafic diff\u00e8re quelque peu de celui de CMA CGM.<\/p>\n\n<p>En 2025, MSC a enregistr\u00e9 41 585 EVP de conteneurs vides en transbordement et 41 474 EVP de conteneurs pleins en transbordement, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant une r\u00e9partition relativement \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e entre les deux cat\u00e9gories.<\/p>\n\n<p>L\u2019armateur a \u00e9galement trait\u00e9 24 800 EVP \u00e0 l\u2019import, soit un volume l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui enregistr\u00e9 par CMA CGM sur le m\u00eame segment.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bien que son trafic global soit rest\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui du groupe fran\u00e7ais, MSC demeure l\u2019un des principaux moteurs des flux conteneuris\u00e9s transitant par Trinidad-et-Tobago.<\/p>\n\n<p>Au cours des quatre premiers mois de 2026, le groupe helv\u00e9tico-italien a trait\u00e9 30 755 EVP \u00e0 Port of Spain.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les autres op\u00e9rateurs restent pr\u00e9sents mais \u00e0 distance<\/h2>\n\n<p>En dehors des deux leaders du march\u00e9, l\u2019activit\u00e9 conteneuris\u00e9e appara\u00eet nettement plus fragment\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n<p>COSCO s\u2019est maintenu au troisi\u00e8me rang en 2025 avec 19 326 EVP, soutenu principalement par le trafic import et les mouvements locaux de conteneurs vides.<\/p>\n\n<p>ONE a trait\u00e9 13 697 EVP sur la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode, tandis que ZIM a enregistr\u00e9 9 901 EVP.<\/p>\n\n<p>Plusieurs autres compagnies maritimes n\u2019ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 que des volumes marginaux, illustrant le caract\u00e8re s\u00e9lectif du d\u00e9ploiement des services dans le march\u00e9 du sud de la Cara\u00efbe.<\/p>\n\n<p>La concentration observ\u00e9e \u00e0 Port of Spain refl\u00e8te une tendance plus large \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale, o\u00f9 un nombre restreint de grands armateurs fa\u00e7onne de plus en plus les r\u00e9seaux r\u00e9gionaux de transport maritime \u00e0 travers les alliances, les strat\u00e9gies de feedering et les d\u00e9cisions de repositionnement des \u00e9quipements<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un port de plus en plus d\u00e9pendant des strat\u00e9gies des grands armateurs mondiaux<\/h2>\n\n<p>Ces donn\u00e9es mettent \u00e9galement en lumi\u00e8re une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle importante pour les ports de gateway et de transbordement de la Cara\u00efbe : leurs performances sont de plus en plus \u00e9troitement li\u00e9es aux choix de routage d\u2019un nombre limit\u00e9 de grands groupes maritimes.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pour Port of Spain, la forte pr\u00e9sence de CMA CGM et de MSC constitue un atout en mati\u00e8re de stabilit\u00e9 et de connectivit\u00e9, notamment sur les corridors commerciaux reliant le sud de la Cara\u00efbe au nord de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud. Cette concentration accro\u00eet toutefois l\u2019exposition du port \u00e0 d\u2019\u00e9ventuelles restructurations de services, \u00e0 des ajustements d\u2019alliances ou \u00e0 des changements de strat\u00e9gie en mati\u00e8re de transbordement r\u00e9gional. <\/p>\n\n<p>Alors que les compagnies maritimes poursuivent l\u2019optimisation de leurs r\u00e9seaux dans l\u2019ensemble du bassin carib\u00e9en, les ports capables de combiner une solide demande domestique avec des activit\u00e9s de transbordement flexibles devraient continuer \u00e0 occuper une place strat\u00e9gique dans les portefeuilles des armateurs.
